Shampoo Goat Milk Soaps

Many commercial shampoos are full of chemical ingredients that are unhealthy for your hair, your scalp, your health, and even the environment. Our Natural Goat Milk Shampoo includes ingredients like rosemary and nettles that are shown to nourish your hair and scalp. If you're considering switching to a Natural Goat Milk Shampoo, you can read the 7 Benefits to Switching to Natural Shampoo

Our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars are a gentle and natural way to cleanse your hair and scalp. If you've never used a Natural Shampoo Bar before, it may take a little while (a couple of days to a couple of weeks) for your hair to adjust. The trick to successfully using the Natural Shampoo Bar is not to use too much. Try to remember that your goal is to clean your scalp. After your hair adjusts to a natural shampoo, you may be surprised at how clean, soft and nourished your hair becomes. Most of our customers find they don't even need a conditioner once they've made the switch to our shampoo bars. It even works well with curly hair!

Benefits of a Natural Shampoo Bar

Our natural goat milk soap shampoo bars are full of ingredients designed to boost your hair and scalp health. Some of these ingredients include:

  • Nettle: Nettles are rich in antioxidants and polyphenols which help neutralize the free radicals that can cause damage to hair cells, which can lead to thinning hair. Nettles can also dilate blood vessels which helps your hair follicles get more oxygen and nutrients, creating healthy hair.
  • Rosemary: Rosemary is wonderful for promoting hair growth. It works similarly to nettles in that it helps increase blood flow which supplies more oxygen and nutrients to your hair and scalp.
  • Jojoba and Castor Oils: These oils keep hair amazingly soft while the Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter we use in the shampoo bars nourish and smooth your hair during your washing routine.

All of these ingredients combine to make one incredibly nourishing and gently cleansing bar of Shampoo Goat Milk Soap. Another benefit is that by using a natural shampoo bar, you are reducing the amount of plastic you use by not purchasing the plastic containers used to bottle regular shampoos and conditioners.

How to Use Shampoo Goat Milk Soap

Using a natural shampoo bar is very easy but it may take a while for your hair to adjust. If you've never used a shampoo bar before, the transition period could take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. The trick to successfully using the shampoo bar is to not use too much.

Using too much of the Shampoo Goat Milk Soap can leave your hair feeling heavy and sticky. Start with a little amount and focus on cleaning your scalp rather than your hair strands. Our natural shampoo bars produce a gentle and creamy lather, but don't try to produce a lather like you get with commercial store-bought shampoos.

Some of our customers prefer to rub the bar directly on their hair and some prefer to lather it in their hands first. There is no right way to do it so experiment to see which method you prefer. If you are new to a natural shampoo bar, we recommend reading our article on the Shampoo Bar for Natural Hair Care.

Conditioning Through the Transition Period

While most of our customers find they don’t need a conditioner after using our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo, some do email us and ask what we recommend as a natural conditioner as they go through the transition process of switching to a natural shampoo. Our family has been using the shampoo bar for years and never needed a conditioner during our original transition period but one of our customers kindly shared what worked for her. We’ve since shared this recipe with others and it seems to work well for them.

  1. Mix together: 1 TBSP unrefined coconut oil, 1 TBSP raw honey, and ½ tsp ground cinnamon.
  2. Wash hair as normal with Goat Milk Soap Shampoo.
  3. Rinse well.
  4. Massage 1 teaspoon of the mixture into your scalp and through your hair. (Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you may need to use more or less than 1 teaspoon.)
  5. Let sit on your hair for about a minute or two, then rinse well.

The customer who shared this recipe with us did not experience any buildup on her comb and told us that combing her hair was very easy. She let us know that it worked well as a conditioner, removed the “waxy” feeling from her hair she experienced during the transition process, brought the shine back to her hair and both her hair and scalp look and feel healthy.

She did not experience any extra oily-ness after using this mixture, but depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you may need to adjust the amount of the mixture you try.

This recipe is not recommended for daily use but if you love it, it can be used as a weekly treatment.

"I have used the Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar twice now. It does a really good job of, not only getting my hair clean, I haven't had nearly as many tangles when combing my hair out after just two uses. I like that there is not a lot of sudsing, it rinses easily, and leaves my hair softer and smoother. I have enjoyed using the shampoo bar and will continue to use it. Thank you :) I love the fragrance too!" - Laura G.
